Bio
Chemical Engineer by training, I work in the area of fluid mechanics and soft matter systems. My group uses analytical theory, experimental methods and numerical solutions to solve problems in the area of electrohydrodynamics of drops, capsules, vesicles and biological cells. The endevor is to understand the intricate physics of electrohydrodynamics and fluid-structure interaction. The interest is to solve problems in crude oil emulsions encountered in refineries, colloidal and surfactant systems, emulsions, as well as biological applications such as dielectrophoresis and electroporation .

Bio
Chemical Engineer by training, my doctoral research was in hydrodynamic and electrohydrodynamic stability with Prof V Kumaran at IISc in 1998-2005, and postdocotoral research in the area of biophysics with Prof Helmut Schiessel at MPIP-Mainz, Germany in 2003-4.

I now work in the area of fluid mechanics and soft matter systems inspired by applications in chemical engineering and material science as well as biophysics. My group uses analytical theory, experimental methods and numerical solutions to solve problems in the area of electrohydrodynamics of drops, capsules, vesicles and biomimetic biological cells (Giant Unilamellar Vesicles). The endeavor is to understand the intricate physics of electrohydrodynamics and fluid-structure interaction in droplets, particulate and GUVs and innovate new processes or intensify existing ones.
